Title of Agenda Item:
Public Hearing: Land Use Management Ordinance Text Amendment - Food Trucks. |
Council Goal:
Focus on Economic Development, Land Use, and Transportation for a Balanced and Sustainable Future Promote diversification of the Town's economy and employment opportunities |
Background:
In response to a business owner's September, 2010 petition and subsequent community response, the Council directed staff to draft a set of regulations to allow food trucks in commercially zoned areas on private lots, under certain conditions. |
Fiscal Note:
The impact to the Town's revenue stream is unknown, as there is no guarantee that food truck transaction taxes will stream to Chapel Hill. There could also be minimal revenue from permitting fees. The cost to the Town will include Legal, Police, and Fire Department personnel time for administering and enforcing new regulations. |
Recommendations:
That the Council open the hearing, receive public comment, and provide feedback on the draft regulations. |
