Title of Agenda Item: Reauthorize the Execution of a Library Construction Contract.  (R-3)(O-4)

Council Goal: Maintain and Improve Community Facilities and Services

Background: On June 13, 2011, the Council authorized the Town Manager to execute a construction contract for the Library expansion project. This report provides the Council with a project update and seeks reauthorization to execute this construction contract.

Fiscal Note: The $16,892,835 project budget is funded from bond funds and incremental interest revenues and does not directly impact the Town's FY 2011 - 12 operating budget.  Once the project is completed, staffing costs associated with the expanded facility will need to be considered as part of the Council's future operating budget deliberations.

Recommendations: That the Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Town Manager to execute a construction contract in an amount not to exceed $12,840,000.

That the Council enact the attached Ordinance establishing a project budget of $16,892,835.
