Background:
This memorandum provides background information for a public forum on the issue of permitting an urban deer hunt within the corporate limits of Chapel Hill.
Speakers have been invited to address the following issues:
· Rules and regulations related to urban deer hunting · Potential health risks related to deer overpopulation · Effects of deer population on the environment |

Fiscal Note:
No fiscal implications can be identified at this time. If the Council decides to hold a hunt there would be financial obligations. Those costs would depend on the scope and type of hunt held. |

Recommendations:
That the Council open the public forum and receive comments on an urban bow hunt for deer. |
