Petitions from the Public
Petitions will not be acted upon at the time they are presented. It shall take a unanimous vote of the Council members present for a petition to be acted upon immediately upon its presentation. After receiving a petition, the Council shall, by simple motion, dispose of it as follows: consideration at a future regular meeting of the Council; or referral to another board or committee for study and report; or referral to the Town Manager for investigation and report; or receive for information. (Receiving does not imply approval, agreement, or consent.)

8.  Consider a Policy Statement in Support of "Medically and Factually Accurate and Objective Information" in Regards to Women's Health Care, Pregnancy, and Contraceptive Services.  (R-4) RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Council consider the attached resolution.

 
9.  Consider Orange County Request to Enlarge Greater Chapel Hill Fire District.  (R-5)(R-6) PRESENTER: Daniel Jones, Fire Chief

RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Council consider these options to determine appropriate direction.

 
10.  GIG-U/North Carolina Next Generation Network (NCNGN) Status Update.   PRESENTER: John Bjurman, Chief Technology Officer

RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Council receive this update on the GIG-U/North Carolina Next Generation Network initiative and authorize the Town Manager to continue to participate in this process as set forth in the RFP and as described in this memo. The authorization to proceed does not obligate or bind the Town to accept any vendor offer or to proceed further with the project.
